Screen titles have been used frequently throughout media products for a long time. Titles are a means of on screen informative text for the audience to understand and relate to the music video or trailer. Titles can be used to set the scene, time or date or just to explain or introduce the text. This method is affective but, in some cases can look outdated if used inappropriately. Using title screens is easily done. Computer software such as Imovie and Final cut can be used to add specific text to a scene.
Many up and coming bands also use title screens, intro's and screen text to introduce themselves to the audience and to create popularity of their song as well as the audience being able to identify who and what the band's image is. This is a way of advertising their music video to the audience.
Such bands could use this method whilst inserting a introduction scene in which the audio hasn't began. This can also be affective and the audience can familiarize with the scene or what is being portrayed.
